Partnerships for Children provides critical resources to abused and neglected children in our community who are in the care of Child Protective Services.
We envision a community in which all of the needs of abused and neglected children are met.
Right now "Julie" is shivering in a cold, dirty apartment wondering if Mom is coming home today. She is dreaming of a warm blanket and a full belly. We at Partnerships for Children collaborate with CPS and other community partners to provide "Julie" and other children like her with items that help her to feel loved, cared for and safe.
Partnerships for Children is a non-profit public/private partnership that provides services directly to children under the care of Child Protective Services (CPS) in the Austin area. Partnerships for Children works to bridge the gap between limited government resources and the critical needs of Austin area children. The Partnership operates programs designed to help caseworkers provide resources and support to the families and children they serve.
Every year, Travis County alone receives over 10,000 reports of abuse and neglect. CPS caseworkers are on the front line fighting the war on child abuse. Every day they witness violence, poverty and broken children. Before Partnerships for Children, CPS caseworkers spent precious time trying to locate the most basic resources for families. Things we might take for granted, like clothes, diapers, and a toothbrush. There is no state funding for these necessities. Now caseworkers are able to spend more time working with their families, instead of trying to locate a day’s worth of diapers.
Partnerships for Children has been granted non-profit status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. All contributions to Partnerships for Children are tax deductible.
Partnerships for Children is funded by private donations, special events, and grants from foundations and trusts. Many local church, schools and community organizations choose us as a recipient for their community service projects. Click here to get involved.
