Fall Festival

Live music, roaming jugglers, circling trains and a bus converted into a gymnasium await the children who attend the Free Fall Festival for Foster Families. Joe McDermott, a local Austin musician, performs a live concert for the kids while clowns, story-tellers and a petting zoo await on the perimeter. But wait there's more! Basketball hoops, carnival games, free food... it's time for a festival!

Although fun is the priority of the festival, safety and education are also a focus of the event. Opportunities to gain new insights will be as diverse as the ages of the children attending. Younger tikes can create Child I.D. kits and discover the joy of reading, including the chance to take home a new book, while guidance on navigating the path to college will be available for teens who attend the festival.

Partnerships for Children organizes the Free Fall Festival for Foster Families in an effort to alleviate the stress of these kid's atypical situation. All too often, the tension and serious issues faced by these children prevent them from enjoying light-hearted play and humor. In addition, the financial burden of taking children to a church or school festival is sometimes too much for a foster family with multiple children on a limited budget. PC is able to provide a fun afternoon for the children and no worries of how to pay for the parents.

If you are interested in volunteering to help man a booth, solicit donations or help set-up or if you would like more information about the festival please email volunteer@partnershipsforchildren.org or call 512-834-4756.
